A promising sector in terms of job creation, the digital sector nevertheless faces an under-representation of young people from priority urban districts or rural areas
- At the end of 2018, 80,000 jobs remained unfilled in digital. Paradoxically, disinterest in digital jobs is 30% higher in priority city districts (QPV).
- 42% of young people aged 17 to 23 from rural areas feel that they "do not have or have had enough information to find their way" - 10 points more than in the Paris area.
To meet these challenges, the CNnum identifies a series of measures:
- Launch an action plan to train prescribers (Pôle Emploi, Cap Emploi, Missions locales, etc.) in digital skills and professions.
- Create a professional baccalaureate dedicated to the developer profession
- Encourage companies to rethink their recruitment policies to fight against discriminatory stereotypes
- Create a national working group to forecast digital skill needs in the French Tech metropolises, with a view to revitalizing the territories
- Axis 1: Guarantee information and access to training on digital opportunities for people with a diverse background
- Axis 2: Identify and measure the recruitment and location policy to address the lack of diversity in the digital sector
- Axis 3: Strengthen the policy of revitalization of the territories
