After launching the State startup scheme, via the beta.gouv.fr service, the State's interministerial digital department (DiNum, formerly DINSIC) set out in 2018 to duplicate its method in local authorities.
The objective of both state and local startups is to respond to a malfunctioning public service, starting from the needs of the user, and working as an internal project team within the community. In most cases, a call for ideas is launched internally, and any agent, regardless of his or her position in the hierarchy, can respond, and then work on his or her project, with support from the beta.gouv.fr team.
The beta.gouv.fr program supported by the Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM) has just launched the third call for applications for the State and Territory Startup Acceleration Fund (FAST).
FAST's goal is to invest in projects that provide concrete solutions to administrative irritants or public policy problems. By targeting problems identified by staff, FAST co-funds the teams responsible for solving the problems.
The call for applications for this 3rd edition targets digital public services that may be at the idea stage or already in development. They will benefit from co-financing according to the needs expressed by the teams.
