The digital transformation of the French economy, and more broadly of society as a whole, undoubtedly requires the modernization and adaptation of tools in terms of skills and training.
The challenge is manifold, as it is already a question of adapting current professions, then preparing for the professions of tomorrow, and finally anticipating the appearance of new forms of professional activity made possible by digital technology.
According to France Stratégie and Dares, between 170,000 and 212,000 jobs are to be filled in the digital sector, depending on the scenario, in 2022 in France; the latest reports reveal that 10% to 15% of jobs have a high risk of automation.
The European Commission launched the "Digital skills and jobs coalition" on December 1, 2016, in cooperation with member states, businesses, social partners, NGOs and education stakeholders.
The role of the coalition is threefold
The French coalition for skills and jobs in the digital sector has three missions:- Identify initiatives and best practices.
- Federate all local and national actors active in the digital field (administrations, associations, NGOs, professional organizations, companies, unions, etc.)
- Carry out concrete actions on the whole territory.
- Phase 1: inventory of actions already undertaken, unsatisfied needs, possible obstacles and blockages, frames of reference or nomenclature and mapping of actors.
- Phase 2: Good practices
- Phase 3: Roadmap and Implementation
The Agence du numérique is co-leading (with the PIX project) one of the four working groups, the "Digital Skills for All Group".
