One of the main reasons for the vocational crisis in the digital sector is the lack of clarity about the jobs available. High school students, their parents and those undergoing retraining find it difficult to make sense of the job titles and associate them with training courses.
To make job offers in these professions more transparent, the Grande école du numérique (GEN) has been publishing a reference map of digital professions since 2019.
The Grande école du numérique has updated this mapping of professions: 36 occupations and 153 designations have been identified in this reference tool, which grew out of the initial work carried out by the GEN when it launched its first regional observatories.
These professions and designations have been grouped into 6 main families:
- security, cloud, networks ;
- management, steering, strategy ;
- development, testing and ops;
- digital communication, marketing and e-commerce;
- data and AI;
- interfaces, graphics and design.
Accessible free of charge via an API, this repository will eventually enable us to share data and build indicators with players in the ecosystem. The aim is to identify companies' needs for digital skills at an early stage, so as to be able to steer training provision more proactively.
