The Grande École du Numérique is a network of training programs for digital professions, with courses lasting from one month to 42 months, often focused on programming, but some dedicated to project management or marketing.
The criteria for access to the GEN label stipulate, in particular, that each training course must train a minimum of 10 low-qualified or unqualified job seekers per session, free of charge. The ultimate goal is to reach 80% of trainees with a baccalaureate level or less per session.
In 2019, more than 340 training courses newly labeled under the Skills Investment Plan (PIC) at the end of 2018 began operating sessions throughout France and the French overseas territories, adding to the 400 training courses already active.
In 2019 alone, more than 15,000 people have benefited from accredited training, helping to meet the growing needs of French companies for digital talent.
The social impact of the Grande École du Numérique is increasing, with more women and residents of the Priority Urban Neighborhoods (QPV) trained. The professional integration figures remain very satisfactory, with 74% of graduates leaving the program after three months, while the number of people with a baccalaureate or below has increased considerably this year.
Territorial impact: it is possible to train in digital technology in the four corners of France as well as in the French overseas departments and communities, where 55 training courses are offered.
Since 2016, the network of training courses labeled Grande Ecole du Numérique (GEN) has enabled 27,921 people to train in digital professions throughout France.
Among them are 25% women, 21% residents of priority neighborhoods, and 56% people with few or no qualifications who are looking for work: " profiles that stand out in the tech industry and are attracting more and more recruiters.
