The non-profit world already makes extensive use of digital tools: to communicate internally, to give visibility to the association, to train its volunteers and employees, to develop projects for beneficiaries, members, and vulnerable groups.
According to a survey conducted in 2013 by Solidatech and Recherches & Solidarités, 73% of the associations surveyed have their own website and 62% of them use social networks.
In the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the Polish foundation TechSoup Europe, with the help of its partners (Les Ateliers du Bocage in France, Haus des Stiftens gGMBH in Germany, Socialtechno Impresa Sociale in Italy and Fondacija Mozaik in Bosnia) have developed a repository of digital skills for European associations and NGOs.
The TIC4NGO platform now allows staff and association members to test their skills around five modules:
- Equipment, infrastructure and troubleshooting
- Data and information processing
- Management and Administration, Finance
- Communications, marketing, public relations
- Computer security
The French version is administered by Solidatech.
