The Archives de France have just launched @docsa digital application designed to simplify the right of access to public information.
@docs is organized by document categories (building permit, medical file, birth certificate...), divided into major themes (taxation, justice, health, etc.).
"For each documentary typology identified, the application offers an answer to the following questions:- Do I have the right to consult and reproduce this document ? The answer to this question is determined by a series of questions to which the user is asked to respond: date of the document, user status, etc.
- If so, what recourse do I have if I am denied access?
- If not, what is the process for gaining access anyway?"
Simplifying access to public documents
@docs is intended for users who are not familiar with the archives but who "encounter the occasional need to access a public document for administrative purposes or personal research." The application provides a simple and quick answer on the legal corpus.@Docs can be used by administrations such as public archives or for the whole public service.
