22 "innovative territory" labels were awarded at the 16th Interconnected Forum which was held on February 12 and 13, 2020 in Lyon.
Since 2009, the "Innovative Territory" label is the national award that allows the local authority to be recognized by its peers and experts in territorial innovation. It distinguishes local authorities implementing the use of new technologies on their territory.

The Forum des interconnectés also gave the opportunity to France Urbaine (the reference association of metropolises, urban communities, agglomeration communities and large cities) and to the Assemblée des Communautés de France-ADCF (the national federation of elected officials of the intercommunality) to make public the manifesto "Acting in the face of the urgency of illectronism".This manifesto is based on six convictions and three proposals. Starting from the fact that digital inclusion is everyone's business (conviction no. 1), it proposes a division of roles between municipalities, inter-municipalities and departments (2), calls for the maintenance of physical reception points (3), wishes to see the implementation of a polluter pays principle (4), shared territorial governance between the public and private sectors (5), and a long-term plan involving citizens and professionals alike (6). Three proposals are associated with these convictions: to create local plans to fight against illiteracy, to introduce a mechanism of compensation between the State and local authorities and to create local conferences of financiers (3).
