The Scientific Committee, in its opinion published on April 2, emphasized "the interest of having social indicators of confinement. Their production could be entrusted to an independent observatory associating public, private and citizen contributions. Quantitative and qualitative elements could be enriched, multiplied and gathered from various methods and sources, academic or not, including from major digital actors, in order to produce transparent elements of knowledge and assessment on containment.
Santé publique France monitors changes in behavior and mental health during confinement
Since March 23, the health agency has been taking the pulse of the French through surveys conducted by BVA among 2,000 Internet users aged 18 and over. The aim is to monitor changes in French people's behaviour (particularly their adherence to barrier measures) and their psychological health, and to identify factors of vulnerability. Five waves of surveys are planned: from March 23 to 25, then from March 30 to April 1, and every 15 days.

The CEVIPOF observes and measures citizens' attitudes towards COVID-19
The Citizens "Attitudes Under the COVID-19 Pandemic" project, coordinated by CEVIPOF, is studying the representations, attitudes and reactions of the general public in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in a number of countries exposed to the coronavirus. Its objective is to
- To measure the dynamics of perceptions and representations (saocial) between different groups of people, based on stratified representative samples.
- Explain why people are more or less likely to comply with public recommendations in certain circumstances (to be investigated by online survey and randomized experiments).
- Addressing the causal mechanisms by which people perceive the importance of how the virus spreads differently and respond accordingly to the discourse of public authorities and other opinion leaders in their communities.
- To study the conditions under which the post-COVID-19 period is likely to both increase fragmentation within societies and affect social cohesion.
Each week, the research team provides policy makers (elected officials, government executives, senior civil servants, etc.) with analysis notes.

Obsoco's "The Day After": to understand how this health crisis is accelerating change
The ObSoCo (Observatoire Société et Consommation) has set up a system, called The Day After, to understand if and how this unprecedented event accelerates the changes already at work in our society and our consumption models."Every day, 50 French people are invited to share their feelings and the key moments of their day. Obsoco also tracks their perception of the national and international situation, their relationship with work, their travels, the way they shop, their activities and leisure activities, their relationships and interactions with others. The quantitative data is based on a survey conducted online with a sample of 1500 people representative of the French population.

DataCovid: how the epidemic is changing the behavior of the French
Référence :
The Datacovid association, with the Ipsos institute, has developed a survey to measure the anxiety of the French and observe their behavior in detail. Based on a large panel of 5,000 French people, and designed with scientists, this study "is a citizen science project, whose primary purpose is to provide open data to researchers and public authorities. It is financed by private partners: Gilead, Amgen, Johnson & Johnson, Roche, CNP, Vinci and RATP. Week after week, we will be able to measure the evolutions. The Coconel consortium analyzes the feelings and behavior of French people when faced with confinement
Coconel (for Coronavirus and Containment: Longitudinal Survey) is an online survey deployed by the IFOP polling institute among a panel of a thousand people representative of the French adult population on various aspects of the current crisis. Conducted by a consortium of researchers from the UMR Vitrome, the Cochin-Pasteur Clinical Investigation Center, the École des hautes études en santé publique (EHESP) and the Observatoire régional de la santé Sud-Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the Coconel study aims to track more specifically the psychological, emotional and behavioral response of the French population to the COVID-19 epidemic and to the containment. Deployed in successive waves, these questionnaires are then analyzed by the researchers who transmit their research notes to the government's scientific council, to Santé Publique France and to the Direction Générale de la Santé.Référence :
