In order to promote the development of digital skills for all, the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research has created a public interest group called Pix, in partnership with the Cned (National Center for Distance Learning), the Open University of Humanities and the University of Strasbourg.
As a tool to assist in the choice of training, this repository will help raise the general level of digital knowledge and skills throughout life. It will be an essential asset in preparing for the digital transformation of our entire society and economy.
As of the start of the 2017-2018 school year, Pix will gradually replace the Brevet informatique et internet (B2i) and the Certification informatique et internet (C2i).
The platform will use a repository of competencies in accordance with the European standard.
It will assess digital skills on 8 levels and 5 major domains:
- information and data ;
- communication and collaboration ;
- content creation ;
- protection and security;
- digital environment.
The Pix project was developed in open source software within the framework of agile methodologies.
