In the context of the health crisis linked to the coronavirus, and in order to re-establish the schooling conditions of the students, the Cned Académie numérique has opened My classroom at home a temporary service for the continuity of the educational service.
The system has been active since February 4 for AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) and MLF (French Secular Mission) students enrolled in schools in China and Vietnam.
This digital service consists of three online educational platforms for all students in primary, middle and high school. These platforms are likely to accommodate 7 million students simultaneously:
- School platform, from kindergarten to CM2;
- College platform, from 6th to 3rd grade;
- High school platform, renovated 2nd and 1st year - L, ES, S final year.
These devices allow students to revise their courses in case of difficulty in reaching their schools or institutions, thanks to a set of resources in accordance with the programs, for all levels and in the main disciplines: online activities, course sequences, training, downloadable exercises, logbooks, digital books, active vignettes, resources in modern languages for school, illustrations, and certain specialised courses for high school, etc.
Students are also offered learning activities in the main disciplines. The Cned uses a variety of digital media and services for interactive revision activities. The Cned does not intervene in assessments and does not offer homework or correction of papers, which remain the responsibility of the teachers.
In addition to these review systems, Cned can set up permanent virtual classes for middle and high schools, by school year, at the request of the academies or schools. Accessible via a link from the platforms, they are organized during a time slot defined in advance by the head of the school, with a connection password sent to the families beforehand.
This interactive solution, which recreates the conditions of a traditional classroom lesson, allows the teacher to gather his or her class online to give a live lesson to his or her students or to exchange with other teachers.
In the event of a school or facility closure, the basic platforms with four weeks of student activities can be activated without delay. Additional virtual classroom services, should they be implemented, will require additional short delays.
