Media and Information Literacy (MIL) has been part of the curriculum since the beginning of the 2016 school year; it is broken down into 27 skills classified into 4 areas. These skills are those that a student must master when leaving college. To support the work of teachers, the Ministry (Direction du Numérique pour l'Education-DNE) has called on the network of Interlocuteurs Académiques au Numérique (IAN) Documentation to specify what each of the skills covers in concrete terms.
From August 23 to September 20, 2017, eduscol is organizing a consultation around the 27 Media and Information Literacy (MIL) skills for Cycle 4.
The purpose of this consultation is to involve the entire educational community in the description of these competencies in order to help teachers implement them in the context of school learning.
The IME is included in the law of July 8, 2013 on the refoundation of the school: it is also a component of the citizen's path.
