A few weeks ago, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI) opened a public consultation on the principles and objectives guiding France's international action in the digital domain.
"This international strategy, jointly developed, will become the reference framework for the diplomatic network. To this end, the Quai d'Orsay has opened a platform that allows the public to comment on actions and measures already envisaged and to suggest other actions or measures.
The consultation is structured in 3 axes:
- Axis 1: Promote an open, diverse and trusted digital world on a global scale
- Axis 2: Affirming a European model that balances economic growth, fundamental rights and freedoms and security
- Axis 3: Strengthen the influence, attractiveness, security and commercial positions of France and French players in the digital world
On January 16, the platform counted 243 contributions and 418 votes from 93 participants
At the end of the consultation, the data will be made public. A hackathon will be organized to exploit them.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development is committed to responding publicly and in a reasoned manner to the 30 most supported contributions on the platform. It will then bring together the experts and participants in the consultation to discuss certain proposals and improve their content.
A qualitative synthesis will be produced at the end of the consultation: it will organize "in a logical and coherent way all the proposals, modifications and arguments formulated by the participants."
