Codeweek Europe is an annual celebration of creativity through code. It aims to give more visibility and resonance to programming and to show young people, adults as well as seniors that it is possible to realize their ideas thanks to computer code, and to demystify these skills in order to gather as many people as possible around the pleasure of learning together.
The initiative was launched in 2013 by the Youth Advisors to the Digital Agenda for Europe.
This fifth edition will take place from October 6 to 21, 2018
In France, its organizers have set themselves the goal of mobilizing associations, popular education movements, media libraries, third places, schools, startups, and large companies, and of involving primary and secondary schools.
