In the course of the year 2020, the Internet has become essential to carry out administrative procedures, but also to work, shop or stay in touch with family and friends. A difficulty for nearly 17% of the French population who do not have the knowledge or the adequate equipment to use digital tools.
To accompany these people who are far from the digital world, a Solidarité-Numérique help center has been set up by the MedNum, with the support of the State Secretariat for Digital Affairs.
This platform contains several practical sections:
- learn about the Internet and computer tools: using an email box, learning to use a mobile application...
- carry out administrative procedures online: fill in your travel certificate, update your situation on the Pôle emploi, declare your resources to the CAF, etc.
- work from home: use Google Calendar and Google Drive, communicate via video conferencing ...
- communicate with your loved ones: call on Skype, communicate with a mobile application...
- homeschooling (find online educational resources or fun activities for kids...
- consult a doctor remotely
- shop on the Internet: useful sites for drive, direct sales from the farm...
- find verified information: official sites, fact-checking tools...
A call center for people who do not have access to the Internet
For people who do not have access to a computer or the Internet, there is also a toll-free number, 01 70 772 372, which can be reached from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. It allows you to get advice from one of the 700 volunteer digital mediators.In all, more than 1,200 digital mediation actors are mobilized to accompany people who are far from the digital world during the COVID-19 crisis. The platform is still looking for volunteers to advise users and produce resources.
