L'call for proposals launched by the AFNIC Foundation aims to support digital workshops in the form of collective training sessions around the following three axes
- Support for isolated people who have difficulty using digital tools on a daily basis, particularly for administrative purposes;
- Evaluation and reinforcement of the skills of the public, giving priority to projects that promote their autonomy and the development of their critical capacity with regard to the digital tool;
- Accompaniment and follow-up adapted to vulnerable groups (poor command of the written word or the French language, difficulty in accessing computer equipment, etc.).
In 2021, it supported 91 projects for an amount of 1.3 million euros.
The foundation is financed by the profits made on the management of the ".fr".
"By creating this foundation, the Association Française pour le Nommage Internet en Coopération (Afnic) wishes to participate in the emergence or support of structuring and field projects, whose aim is either to use the Internet for social and economic solidarity, or to disseminate the uses and knowledge on the Internet, with the aim of developing solidarity on the French territory.Références :
