Heritage sites (museums, monuments and cultural sites) are turning to participatory financing to diversify their funding.
Since March 4, 2016, the CLIC France (Club Innovation & Culture) heritage participatory financing barometer has been listing campaigns conducted on crowdfunding platforms, but also campaigns conducted on platforms specific to cultural institutions (Fondation du Patrimoine, Musée du Louvre...).
By the end of December 2017, €2,584K had been raised on crowdfunding platforms for the benefit of French historical, artistic and scientific heritage sites, almost three times more than the funds raised in 2016 (€893K).
The success rate of these participatory financing campaigns is 61%.
From January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017, 105 campaigns were completed, 64 of which reached their goals to raise an average of €24.6K.
