On October 10, 2020, hundreds of citizens will gather in France and around the world to discuss the future of the Internet.
Initiated by Missions Publiques and organized in France by AFNIC, the Conseil National du Numérique, Internet Society France and their associated partners, the citizen dialogue on the future of the Internet is part of a worldwide process of citizen deliberation and participatory democracy, with more than 70 countries participating around the world.
"This global deliberation will develop informed citizen recommendations that will be submitted to decision makers at the local, regional and international levels. The results of the deliberation will be submitted to the Internet Governance Forum 2020.This process is coordinated by a coalition of global partners: European institutions (European Commission, Council of Europe), UNESCO, Internet Society, Wikimedia Foundation, World Wide Web Foundation, World Economic Forum, Swiss and German governments, private sector actors.
